The voices behind old popularly known song ‘Welcome Home’,
OSIBISA, was presented a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the development of Highlife and ‘WORLD’ Music.

The Band was engaged in a workshop last week Thursday with the Department of Music at the University of Education Winneba which created the avenue for the award to be given.

Receiving the award is Teddy Osei, Founder and member of OSIBISA, presented by Mrs. Augusta Arko-Mensah, a Lecturer at the Music Department.

Highlife Maestro, Bessa-Simons was also presented a certificate of honour and plaque for his outstanding contributions to the development of Highlife Music in Ghana. Presenting the plaque to Bessa-Simons is Prof. Mary Priscilla Dzansi-McPalm, Dean of School of Creative Arts, University of Education, Winneba.
