Upcoming Hip Hop artiste, SelasieSongz has began an advocacy that seeks to address the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) on certain pertinent issues in Ghana’s music industry. In a Facebook post, SelasieSongz claims most Ghanaian musicians are left with very little or no means to make ends meet after their illustrious careers. This for him is a big challenge especially for acts like himself who are still upcoming. While many may argue that musicians should be smart business-wise in order to still be able to cater for themselves as well as family long after their careers, SelasieSongz suggested MUSIGA came up with better structures for artistes to at least help cope with this issue. Read his post below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
According to Selasiesongz, the reason for his sudden open up is because most upcomers like him are suffering to break into the industry because structures are not well built to support them. Therefore these upcomers including Selasiesongz have planned to push an agenda on meeting the Heads of Musiga for better explanations on how the industry being managed.
